So it’s that time of year again when we all gather around and give thanks … and I have my best shot to capture trains on camera in Brenham.
Because of interesting circumstances involving a Texas A&M football game, we had an unusual Thanksgiving Day. We and then went out for a walk through Holt Park near the BNSF rail line.

While the walk yielded nothing but an empty shot of the tracks over a stone bridge, we were much luckier on the drive out. As we pulled up to a grade crossing, the lights went on and the gates swung down. Around the bend came a northbound BNSF grain train.

Taking photos from the back seat of a vehicle isn’t the greatest thing in the world, but I made the most of it.
Unfortunately, this was the only opportunity I would have to take photos this weekend. Hopefully our time in town after Christmas will yield a more bountiful harvest.
